LOCAL HERITAGE

LA FERME DU PARCOT, A MUST-SEE ATTRACTION FROM THE PÉRIGORD VERT

Just a few kilometres from the campsite, the Ferme du Parcot is one of the must-see attractions during your stay.
This remarkable site, listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments, offers a glimpse into the world of rural architecture in the Double region and provides a better understanding of the area’s rural history.

On site, you’ll find a farmhouse built of timber and cob, an educational garden, an interpretive trail, a natural area rich in biodiversity, as well as a programme of nature activities and craft workshops throughout the season.
It is an ideal day out for families as well as for lovers of heritage and nature.

La Ferme du Parcot also hosts a Terra Aventura trail, ‘Les Doublauds font la paire’, a fun and original way for families to explore the site.
This free activity, inspired by geocaching, appeals to children and adults alike and fits perfectly with the spirit of a nature-based holiday in the Périgord Vert.

ÉCHOURGNAC ABBEY AND ITS MATURED CHEESES

If you’re extending your getaway, Échourgnac Abbey invites you to enjoy a culinary and heritage experience that’s emblematic of the region. The Trappe cheese dairy carries on a renowned tradition of craftsmanship, particularly with its cheese matured in walnut wine, which has become one of the area’s most famous specialities.

For lovers of local produce, this visit perfectly rounds off your exploration of the Dordogne through the prism of local flavours and living heritage.

LOCAL PRODUCTS WORTH DISCOVERING AT THE CAMPSITE RECEPTION

At Camping du Lac, your stay begins with a treat for the taste buds.
At reception, we sell homemade jams, featuring classic flavours such as strawberry and apricot, as well as more original combinations like cucumber and mint, or apple, kiwi and vanilla. There’s also a mini-market on site where you can order bread, making it easy to extend your culinary experience whilst still enjoying the campsite’s simple, friendly atmosphere.

THE VIRADE FARM AND THE
MARKET FROM RIBÉRAC

To continue exploring the local area, the GAEC de la Virade in Vanxains offers dairy products made from milk from the farm’s own cows, including yoghurts in a variety of flavours, cheeses and ice cream. The farm shop, open on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings, makes it easy to sample local produce whilst on holiday.

Another popular spot for holidaymakers is the Ribérac market, held every Friday morning throughout the year. Renowned in the area, it brings together producers, craftspeople and traders offering a wonderful variety of fresh produce and regional specialities. It’s an excellent way to get out and about, soak up the atmosphere of the Périgord Vert and pick up some typical local delicacies to enjoy back at the campsite.
